Would you believe me if I told you that several years ago, I discovered real-life pixie dust? It doesn’t necessarily help you fly and doesn’t lead to never-neverland, but it is a magical powder that changed my life.
If you’re looking for something to detox your body, boost your gut, prevent free-radical damage, and fight infections, zeolite might be exactly what you’re looking for.
I started using it right after I had my mercury amalgam fillings removed. I have also started it again anytime that I tested for metals and found that I had high heavy metals in my body. I have been using it on and off ever since and have never looked back.

What is Zeolite?
Zeolite is a complex mineral. It actually forms in the contact of volcanic lava and water. The process of creating Zeolite can take thousands or even millions of years. Ancient Romans actually used this to build bridges, but it is far more beneficial when used in the body.
There are about 40 types of Zeolite found in nature known as Clinoptilolite, Mordenite, or Analcime.
Zeolite is by far the most common term for all forms, and Clinoptilolite is second. I will use them interchangeably because if you stare at the same word too long it starts to look weird (and zeolite is already weird enough)!
How a Detox with Zeolite Works
Zeolite crystals/rocks can bind and remove a wide range of toxins from the human body from drinking water to waste materials. The tiny cages in the surface of the crystals charge trap heavy metals, natural and chemical poisons, radioactive elements, microbes, metabolic products, and more.
Best of all, it does this without actually being absorbed, which makes it perfectly safe for human use. It’s clear why zeolite detox is becoming more popular for eliminating heavy metals and toxins from the body.
Zeolite Detox Benefits
The list of benefits almost seems too good to be true, except that it’s not. These benefits have been shown in test subjects, clinical trials, and research studies to show the effectiveness of a zeolite detox and regular clinoptilolite use.
- Heavy Metals Detox
In a clinical trial on 33 volunteers, zeolite enhanced the elimination of heavy metals in the body. In a similar study on mice, zeolite detox reduced the levels of lead in organs by up to 91%. In rats, clinoptilolite stimulated aluminum detox and stopped it from reaching the blood.
In cadmium-poisoned pigs, it prevented anemia. There are additional cell studies that have confirmed the ability of clinoptilolite to bind to heavy metals such as lead, mercury, aluminum and successfully remove them from the body.
- Alcohol Detox
Looking for a cure for the hangover? Zeolite detox might work there too. In 12 healthy drinkers, clinoptilolite reduced blood levels of alcohol by up to 43 percent.
Clinoptilolite also blocked alcohol absorption when combined with a drink. In another clinical trial, 25 volunteers took zeolite the morning after and their hangover symptoms improved by 40-50 percent.
- Toxins Detox
Zeolite’s porous structure is a perfect trap for toxins both large and small. It has been shown effective in removing radioactive elements and nitrates that can contaminate drinking water. Several studies involving rats, cows, and sheep have shown the effectiveness of zeolite to bind to a variety of dangerous toxins to prevent them from being absorbed and remove them from the body
- Gut Health
When you have a leaky gut it means that toxins can leak from the gut into the bloodstream. When this happens, you may notice you’re extra tired, get sick easily, experience depression, and don’t feel quite right. Zeolite detox can actually fix this.
In a clinical trial of 52 endurance athletes, Clinoptilolite tightened the intestinal wall and prevented a leaky gut. In mice, a type of zeolite was actually able to repair existing gut damage. This detox showed similar activity in a study on pigs with gut inflammation.
This information may help with ulcerative colitis, IBS, and even colon cancer by protecting against gut toxins.
- Oxidative Damage
Oxidative stress is one of the biggest players in human illness. Many theories suggest it is the main underlying factor for mental health, brain disorders, heart diseases, diabetes, cancer, and more.
Oxidative stress is the dominance of free radicals over antioxidants. This detox can actually reduce oxidative stress in the body and reverse the damaging effects.
- Liver Protection
The antioxidant power of zeolite detox makes a huge difference and may actually be crucial for liver protection. In rats, clinoptilolite boosts glutathione and protective enzymes and protects the liver by cleansing out all the damaging radicals. As a result, blood markers of oxidative damage dropped.
- Allergies
Using Zeolite to detox can actually help with seasonal and chronic allergies as well. In mice, a mixture of natural zeolites actually trapped histamine and other triggers of inflammation, decreasing allergic reactions like swelling by 57 percent.
- Reduce Environmental Toxins
We all know about the unprecedented number of toxic stressors we encounter in our everyday lives. Over time these toxins accumulate and contribute to fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, a weakened immune system, and countless health issues. A zeolite detox will bond to the strong positive charge in the toxins and remove them safely out of the body.
- Mold
Mold toxicity is a serious problem and a major player in many chronic conditions without you even realizing it. Even if you are not currently exposed to mold in your home or workplace, spores can linger for years and multiply in your body on their own. This type of detox is a powerful way to eliminate old mold in the body.
- Radioactive Materials
After being exposed, radioactive materials from CT scans, Mammograms, and X-Rays are left in your body for years if you don’t take action to remove them. Zeolite detox is a fantastic tool to help remove leftover radiation from your body.
- Microbial Pathogens
Zeolite can bind to a number of pathogenic microbes including Candida and a host of viruses. Once attached it will absorb these particles and keep them from being absorbed in the body. This means that zeolite detox may be effective against a whole host of viruses.
- Skin Health
Pollution, dirt, and other particulate matter affect our skin every day and cause damage, acne, eczema, etc. Clinoptilolite has an extraordinary ability to absorb, hold, release, and exchange chemicals, nutrients, and ions in the body.
A zeolite detox works like an internal version of activated charcoal to draw the impurities out of your skin and leave you with a silky, supple complexion.
Does Zeolite Bind to Minerals and Vitamins?
No. Zeolite can only selectively bind smaller molecules. Organic compounds such as vitamins, enzymes, or minerals are larger molecules. There is no concern about clinoptilolite binding to important vitamins and minerals and removing them from the body as part of a zeolite detox.
Best Zeolite Supplements
Like many other supplements on the market, clinoptilolite has not been approved by the FDA. This is mainly because the DFA doesn’t generally regulate supplements.
When choosing a zeolite detox supplement you want to choose a high-quality source from clean regions with a purified, activated, and micronized zeolite product.

How to Pick the Best Zeolite Supplements
It’s important to choose your clinoptilolite wisely. There are many products on the market that simply don’t work as advertised. Why? Because many of them are synthetic. Here are four ways to ensure you’re getting the best zeolite detox supplements:
- Choose a product made with zeolite clinoptilolite, a natural zeolite.
- Use a product that is optimized to target toxins on the cellular level so that it can work throughout the body.
- Look for the term “nanosized” that will help you find a detox that will go beyond the gut to reach into cells for a deep detox. At this level, it’s even able to cross the blood-brain barrier.
- Make sure the zeolite is cleansed first. The mining process itself is full of pollutants, so the zeolite must be first cleaned before produced.
If you don’t have time to do your own research then consider trying RCN Nano Zeolite for 90 days and re-evaluate your symptoms.
Zeolite Dosage
For most supplements, I recommend starting with a low dose and working your way up. With zeolite detox, this doesn’t work and may actually be harmful. Here’s why: zeolite has a strong negative charge and so it’s pulled to the toxins like a magnet. However, if there’s not enough clinoptilolite to go around as it works through the body, those toxins are just redistributed.
If you take a very low dose of zeolite you may experience this redistribution of toxins and a bad reaction. The higher the dose, the less likely you are to experience this and you will expedite your results. This is true even in sensitive individuals because the side effects of zeolite detox are so minimal, go big or go home on this one. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations exactly, don’t skimp when it comes to zeolite.
What I recommend instead to enter in slowly is to take the full dosage 1x every 5 days, then 4 days, then 3 days, and so forth until you are up to the full recommended dosage. Taper into taking this supplement daily. If you do experience any symptoms, just slow down the frequency.
Zeolite Side Effects
In most trials and research studies, clinoptilolite has little to no significant side effects when ingested. It is not meant to be inhaled and may not be safe for the lungs. There is some research that shows it may actually inhibit the absorption of protein from food, and decrease calcium in the body. For these reasons, clinoptilolite is not something you’d want to take for a long period of time.
I recommend taking your zeolite in the morning right when you wake up. Just delay your water intake to increase absorption.
Zeolite Warnings
Zeolite binds to some medications like antibiotics, supplements, and other drugs. It’s important to see how clinoptilolite might interact with other medications you could be taking. For safety, we don’t recommend taking clinoptilolite if you are taking any critical medications, if you are a transplant patient, on chemotherapy, or using antibiotics.
DIY Zeolite Recipes at Home
If you’re not interested in ingesting clinoptilolite, you can get some of the benefits of a zeolite detox using recipes you can make at home. Even with these recipes, always be sure you are using a quality zeolite detox product and enjoy the beautiful detox benefits specifically for your skin.
Zeolite Face Mask
Mix 1 tbsp. of zeolite powder and just enough water to make a paste (around 2 tbsp.)
Apply to your face and leave on for at least 15 minutes. You can leave it on for up to an hour for oily skin, less for dry skin. Rinse and enjoy a deep cleanse on your pores and help heal any existing blemishes. This can also be used as a daily cleanse, simply rinse the mask as soon as it dries.
Zeolite Body Scrub
Use your palm or a body brush to apply 1-2 tbsp. of pure zeolite on your skin before you take a shower. The clinoptilolite can be combined with sugar, bentonite clay, or salt – but is also perfectly safe and effective to use on its own. Be careful around sensitive areas and do not inhale the powder. Shower off after use.
Zeolite vs Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay
Activated charcoal and bentonite clay are also marketed as natural binders. So, what’s the difference, and do they all do the same thing? The truth is, these are all fantastic ingredients and can be very helpful in a detox protocol.
However, binders such as charcoal and bentonite clay don’t have the same capabilities as zeolite clay. They are effective at “mopping up” toxins, but not great at eliminating them completely. High-quality zeolite has a stronger negative charge than either charcoal or bentonite and it allows them to pull toxic elements through the cell membrane, which is a whole new level of detox.
Coseva Advanced TRS Detox vs. Zeolite
Coseva is the MLM company that sells Advanced TRS Detox. The company claims to be a higher quality zeolite detox, but you have to join their membership plan or become a distributor yourself. While their claims may be true, none of us have time for that right now! You can order high-quality products on Amazon without the hassle of going through an MLM or paying for a membership plan.
From A to Zeolite
High-quality zeolite is an effective and safe detox tool for a number of toxic elements If you are concerned about heavy metals, environmental toxins, molds, radioactive materials, and pathogenic microbes in your body, zeolite detox can be a great way to eliminate these elements completely.
It may not actually be called pixie dust, but it’s the most magical powder I have found yet. I have personally used clinoptilolite on and off for years and have seen a significant improvement after a zeolite detox and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel better, eliminate toxins from their body, look younger and enjoy more energy throughout their day. Simply take the second star to the right and straight on to Zeolite.
